Why The King James Bible?

Victory believes in using only one Bible for all personal and public reading and study. The reason for this is found in the Bible itself. God tells us that He is not the 'author of confusion' (I Corinthians 14:13). Using multiple versions only leads to misunderstanding.

It is at this point most people argue that all translation are the same, but they are not. Take almost any modern translation and open it to Act 8:37 and see if it is the same as the King James. In most you will not find a verse 37. The doctrine taught by that verse is unmistakeable, salvation is to precede baptism. Why take it out, well that is a topic for another day.

The King James Bible has been around for over 400 years now. It is well known and its language has preserved the intent of the originals better than any modern translation can. With the use of the thee, thou, ye, and you it clarifies more than any other version can by using only the you. Most people have not been taught that thee and thou are singular and that ye and you are plural.

Less confusion, better translation and better English are the best reasons for using the King James. This is by no means a complete discussion on why we use the old standard. But it is a good glimpse at why we will only use the King James Version.
